The long stays in hospital and long recovery time at home kept him away from school and his friends.
During this time, Xavier found solace in Gran Turismo and the Fast and Furious movies.
Motorsport became an obsession for Xavier, so his wish was for a ‘Razor Crazy Cart’ -a cross between an electric go-cart and the ultimate drifting machine.
We knew that Xavier also dreamed of joining the police when he grew up, so we collaborated with both the NZ Police and the amazing team at Hampton Down Motorsport Park to create a day full of police and race action like no other.
Wish Day began with a special trip in the Police Eagle helicopter, where Xavier took in a pristine view of Auckland from above.
Next on the agenda was a trip to Hampton Downs Go Kart track where Xavier and his parents all took part in some serious racing, Xavier had his first time on the podium which resulted in Xavier taking first!
The thrills then continued with an extra special treat – Xavier received VIP access to the main Hampton Downs racetrack and was sat shotgun for high-speed hot laps in a police car, steered by an advanced driver.
To make his Wish Day even more special and one to remember forever, on returning home Xavier was surprised with his very own Razor Crazy Cart. Now, he can continue to perfect some of the moves he had learnt that day!
