Four-year-old Emma has acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and her hero is "Emma Wiggle" - the bright, bubbly, ballet dancing, and only female Wiggle in the popular children's entertainers group "The Wiggles".
Emma loves ballet and it was Emma Wiggle who inspired her to start dance lessons! Before she got sick, little Emma performed in a ballet recital which she cutely refers to as “Peter Pants” - where she performed a dance dressed in purple as the Southern Lights.
Emma's medical condition has meant that she has to endure some intense cancer treatment, and as a result she is too unwell to attend kindy, and has had to miss out on her beloved dance lessons while she continues her treatment.
While she copes with the treatment, and being away from her school and ballet friends, little Emma loves to watch Emma Wiggle's ballet videos and move to the popular action songs from the Wiggles group - her favourite song is "Rock a Bye Your Bear" - the fun-loving Wiggles help bring a smile to her day.
When Emma Wiggle and her fellow Wiggles heard that their little Kiwi friend Emma was too unwell to attend their recent tour of NZ, they surprised Emma with her own private concert and dance lesson!
Emma, dressed in the Emma Wiggle costume and positioned at her Emma Wiggle ballet barre and dance mat, was treated to her own personal ballet lesson with her hero - a very special and touching moment for Emma and her family.
The Wiggles spent time singing songs and entertaining Emma, including her favourite songs and getting the whole family involved in moving and singing along with them!
Our thanks to the wonderful Wiggles for making Emma's wish come true!
